Description
Our hydraulic drive sand dredging pump is another new produce we developed. It is mainly used as an excavator attachment taking place of grab bucket when there is too much water, mud and not suitable for digging. It is driven by the excavator hydraulic system or a separate hydraulic station to pump sand, sludge mortar etc. Its flow passage components is made of high-strength and wear-resistant alloy.
It’s mostly attached to amphibious excavator, swamp excavator, dredging excavators, or cutter suction dredger, bucket dredgers etc to operate.

FAQ:
Q: Can I attach TUSSU® hydraulic submersible dredging pump to any excavator?
A: Yes. These pumps are designed as versatile attachments for excavators (typically 20T to 50T classes). Compatibility is based on your excavator’s hydraulic flow (L/min) and pressure (Bar). We provide customized adapter plates and valve blocks to ensure seamless integration with your machine’s hydraulic circuit.
Q: Do I need a special hydraulic circuit for the pump?
A: Most pumps utilize the excavator’s breaker (hammer) line or auxiliary circuit. However, a case drain line is usually required to protect the hydraulic motor from backpressure, ensuring a long service life for the motor seals.
Q: How do you handle highly abrasive materials like silica sand or tailings?
A: All wear parts—including the impeller, suction plate, and volute—are manufactured from High-Chrome Alloy (e.g., Cr27/A05). This material is specifically engineered to withstand severe abrasion and erosion common in dredging and mining environments.
Q: How often do the wear parts need to be replaced?
A: Wear life varies significantly based on the “abrasivity” of the medium. In soft silt dredging, parts may last over 2,000 hours. In heavy sand dredging, life might range from 500 to 1,000 hours. We recommend keeping a “Wear Part Kit” (Impeller and Suction Plate) on-site to minimize project downtime.
Q: What sealing system is used to prevent water from entering the hydraulic motor?
A: We use a double mechanical seal system housed in an independent oil chamber. This setup provides a robust barrier against high-pressure water and fine particles, protecting the hydraulic motor even at significant depths.
Q: What is the maximum discharge distance?
A: The discharge distance depends on the pump’s rated head and the pipe diameter. For example, a pump with a 30m head can typically push slurry 300m to 500m horizontally, depending on the slurry density. For longer distances, a booster pump station may be required.
Q: Can hydraulic pumps operate in “dry” conditions or shallow water?
A: While designed for submersion, these pumps can operate in shallow water as long as the suction inlet is covered. However, continuous dry running is not recommended as the pumped medium often helps dissipate heat from the hydraulic motor and seals.
