Working Principle of Hydraulic Slurry Pump

The pump is driven by high-pressure hydraulic oil, which powers the hydraulic motor. The motor generates centrifugal force via the rotation of the impeller and volute to suction media.

The hydraulic oil input serves as the power source.

Note: The pump’s flow rate and head are directly proportional to the provided hydraulic pressure and oil volume.

Hydraulic Circuit Connection

Connect the excavator hammer head circuit correctly as marked: High-pressure line (inlet) and low-pressure line (return). Ensure lines are not reversed.

The pump’s rotation direction is counterclockwise when viewed from the inlet end. The mixer head rotates to scoop sediment.

Overflow Line Requirements

A dedicated overflow line must be installed to directly return oil to the tank.

Prohibited: Leaving it unconnected, connecting it to the return line, or blocking it.

Initial Operation and Air Venting

Initial use may cause irregular operation or jitter due to air trapped in the hydraulic motor or lines. Perform air venting:
Method 1:

Submerge the pump entirely in water (at least 10 cm above the volute) to cool the mechanical seal.

Run the pump and mixer head at minimum throttle for 10–20 minutes. If issues persist, pause for 20–30 minutes and repeat.

Repeat venting if air remains after subsequent use.
Method 2 (Experienced Operator Tip):

Connect all lines but leave the return line disconnected (attach a bucket).

Open the excavator’s hydraulic valve and loosen the pump’s vent bolt.

Let residual pressure from the hydraulic pump slowly fill the motor and lines with oil (20–30 minutes).

Once oil flows steadily from the return line, reconnect it.

Operational Guidelines

After normal operation, gradually increase the throttle to working conditions. Avoid over-throttling or exceeding pressure limits to extend equipment life.

Tighten all bolts after 1–2 days of operation and check periodically for looseness.

Never use the pump as a pivot for excavator movement or operations.
-
Always start and stop the pump in clean water.
-
Ensure clean oil ports during equipment relocation.
