A submersible wastewater pump, otherwise called sewage pump, is a piece of electrical equipment that is designed to work when it is submerged in water. It is used to transport waste by directing the flow of sewage water towards a sewage treatment facility.
There are different forms of submersible wastewater pumps and they vary according to usage. For example, for your residential home, you will need a light model. But if you have a commercial or industrial property you will need a heavy duty model.
However, like all other equipment, submersible wastewater pumps also have their advantages and disadvantages.

The most important thing about submersible wastewater pumps is that they have a sealed watertight design to prevent liquid from entering the mechanical parts of the unit. Some other additional advantages are:

- They are more effective than the suction method because they use direct pressure to release fluid.
- They do not have to be primed before operating.
